Congratulations Kris,
I knew all would go well. It is an amazing surgery. Good Luck in your recovery.

I am 5 days post op with Dr. Su, left hip. I have to say, talk about
drastic changes. Before surgery I could only lift my left foot 4
inches off the floor; not able to swing my leg into bed/car without
lifting it; not able to walk further than 1/2 block; completely unable
to point my toe straight let alone walk with my foot straight....
walked further than that in the hospital!!! I am lifting my leg into
the bed without assistance since the day after surgery. I am lifting
my bent knee up to the waist without effort. My toe is pointing
forward (which I still am looking down to disbelief)..
brought me, and Dr. Su's PA to tears on the day of discharge.
I am only 38 years old and have spent the last 3 years limping and in
pain....I have had less pain in the past 5 days than I did for the
last 3 years, and I cannot believe it! I read it, I listened to it,
but there is still that little "can't it really be????" voice in your
head.
Yes, it is true! I wish I could skip (let's not get ahead of
ourselves) because I would!!
Kudos to my fabulous surgeon, the terrific and super-attentive nurses
and aides/staff at Hospital for Special Surgery!
