Thanks for your encouragement. My PCP isn't real hot on the surgery. He has a patient who got banded (an RN like myself) who lost 88lbs the first year, then gained 80 of it back the 2nd, so is only down a net of 8 lbs. I don't know what her issues are (lord knows we all have them). As for myself, I'm such an impulsive eater, I wonder how one can stay on a diet after the band, if they can't before? That's my real question. I guess I'm afraid I'll get the surgery and then be a failure at it...scary. Does the surgery really make it easier not to eat? I can't imagine being on a liquid diet, as I've read often here.
