Bluntly:
Your surgeon is full of what keen gardners collect off the roads after horses go by. Just keep reading and you will see testimonials from dozens of women, many considerably older than you, and from people like me, a male with Osteopenia, age 64 at the time, who has had two very successful resurfacings.

Hello All: I'm in research mode. My Ortho surgeon has done some
resurfacing but says he would not recommend it due to my age (53) or
for any women over 35 because of high risk of failure due to bone loss
from osteoporosis.
I'm a 53 year old female and up until the last 2 years or so have been
pretty active - horseback riding, walking/hiking, yoga, cross country
skiing - have a good bone density scan. I'm going to get some other
opinions, but wonder if any other women in this group have heard this
opinion?
Thanks,
Helen M.
