Chrissie, I feel bad about complaining about being so cold in earlier
posts, since you are from Alaska!
I was on full liquids including protein shakes for the first 2
weeks. For the next 2 weeks, I was on mushy food. After that 4 week
period, I started back on regular food (w/in reason!). I don't blame
you for being confused. Each doctor has their own plan and schedule
and it isn't standardized. I would recommend following your doctor's
instructions for the best results. I would suggest not drinking your
liquids with a straw, as that could create more gas from swallowing
air.
The band is an excellent tool to help you lose weight. However, that
is all it is... a tool. I read your comment below about finding a
way to permanently lose weight. Well, if you follow your surgeons
orders AND eat like a bandster, there is no reason why the band can't
help the loss become permanent. However, it will not do the work for
you and it isn't a magic pill. Remember, drink your water, get your
protein, vitamins and fiber and get some form of regular exercise. If
you work with the band, it will work with you.
It is a wonderful feeling not to feel hungry all of the time and not
being able to eat a lot when you do eat. It is freeing!
Best wishes to you and welcome to the band!
