One of the reasons for the difference in pre-fill instructions for the
fills is whether the surgeon uses fluoro on all fills. If the fill is
under fluoro then you need approximately four hours pre-fill to empty
the pouch so the barium swallow isn't messed up by food still in the
pouch. If no fluoro is used the surgeon probably won't care much about
what you eat before the fill.
The post-fill instructions vary so muuch I wouldn't hazard a guerss
except for one surgeon who tells his patients to stay on full liquids
for a week to jumpstart their losing process. Two days I can understand
for possible swelling that can occur because of the fill. That never
happens for some of us.
