Jeff,
I was an occasional cyclist before my resurfacing in July 2006.... was
always more of a runner and martial artist - but discontinued those
activities early in 2001 when my OA started getting worse. I had to
give up cycling about 4 yrs prior to surgery because of the hip pain.
Last yr at about 9 months post-op, I took up mountain biking for the
first time...and by then, the hip felt perfectly normal. In the first
couple of weeks, I had an awesome crash/endo..
and badly bruised a couple of ribs; couldn't sneeze without bringing
tears to my eyes for 2 weeks.......
phased.
You'll find that by about 6 months post op, the hip will feel
completely normal.....and you'll begin forgetting what it was like to
have a bum hip.
Good Luck,
John (46)
